Cancer Screening Galleri Test

GALLERI TEST: is a multi-cancer early detection (MCED) blood test designed to screen for over 50 types of cancer in asymptomatic individuals. It can be done on anyone above age 21 years with an elevated risk of cancer but particularly recommended for those aged 50 years.

It works by analyzing cell-free DNA (cfDNA) in a blood sample to detect DNA methylation patterns that may indicate the presence of cancer cells, and if a signal is found, it can predict the likely origin (cancer signal origin, or CSO) in the body with about 88-93% accuracy to guide further diagnostic testing.

It is not a replacement for standard cancer screenings (mammograms, PSA’s or colonoscopy) but to complement them by identifying cancers that lack routine screening methods, such as pancreatic, ovarian, or esophageal cancers. It is not yet covered by insurance but is considered an HSA/FSA eligible test.
