Get the Medical Attention You need

Dear Patients,

Our philosophy of practicing medicine has drastically changed since completing our family medicine training in 2002. We have developed a deeper understanding of the human body, what fuels it to work optimally, how the negative effect of certain foods leads to breakdown of our body’s defenses thereby letting the disease process get a foothold. We have also realized that although family history can be important, it does not have to dictate our final outcome, and that lifestyle changes and our foods habits can positively change the expression of those ‘bad genes’. We have reached here with the help of several pioneers in the field of plant-based nutrition to whom we will always be eternally grateful.

Since 2011, we have drifted our focus on nutrition and learnt that the human body is an amazing healing machine and if given the right environment through food and lifestyle it can heal itself thus many a times eliminating the need for medications and drastic medical interventions to treat illnesses.

We have been able to apply this knowledge in addressing the problems of our own patients who have seen amazing results by incorporating these changes in their life. We have been able to coach patients to change their diet and reverse common conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, High Triglycerides, Obesity, Gout, Dementia and high cholesterol as well as reverse less common conditions like autoimmune diseases (psoriasis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease), eczema, migraines to mention a few. We like to share all the information we can with our patients and guide them to improve their health. We continue to practice conventional medicine with diagnostics and medications but for those who are interested, we love to coach them to improve their health by changing to a ‘whole food plant-based diet’ which has been shown to not only reduce the risk of getting chronic conditions such as heart disease, stroke and cancer but also that it is the only thing which has been shown to ‘reverse’ heart disease, which is the number one killer in the United States.

It always takes a few weeks to adapt to any major change in life. Fortunately, for most of us, the fear of meeting that challenge is not enough to keep us from trying new things. It was not so easy for us also but as a couple we teamed up with our two sons to make this work. Once we started seeing positive outcomes in our own lives and how good we felt, there was no looking back. In fact, we enjoy food more than ever before and are raising our teenage boys the same way with their full cooperation and involvement in it. Every child deserves to know the basics of nutrition specially with the confusion created by media and the food industry. Only then can we ensure the health of our future generations.

We welcome you to our practice and look forward to working with you!

Acknowledgements & Gratitude

We have been members of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM.org) since 2014, and support the work they are doing under the leadership of Dr Neal Barnard. It is through his leadership that a lot has been achieved on many fronts such as nutrition education for medical experts, practicing ethical education and training, removal of animals from laboratory testing and clinical research, as well as emphasis on plant based nutrition in school and hospital food programs. We also regularly support nutritionfacts.org which is one of the most comprehensive evidence based database of information created by Dr Michael Gregor as a labor of love where he has dedicated himself entirely with goal of educating medical professionals as well as patients. We owe our heart felt gratitude to them and others leaders in this field of plant based nutrition education, practice and research, through all of whom we have learnt a lot in last several years- Dr Colin Campbell, Dr Caldwell Esselstyn JR, Dr Dean Ornish, Dr John McDougall and Dr Michael Klaper (in no particular order).
